National Cadet Corps (N.C.C.) :

Department of NCC in Smt.Champaben Balchand Shah Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Sangli was established in the year 1976 under the command of 6 Maharashtra Girls Bn, Kolhapur. The enrollment Capacity of the unit is 50 cadets per year. Lt.Sunita Borde – Khadase has been serving in the capacity of Associate NCC officer of this coy since 2003.

Aims of N.C.C:-

  • To develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit to adventure and the ideas of selfless service amongst the youth.
  • To create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth.
  • To provide suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the armed forced.

Moto of N.C.C :- “Unity & Discipline”

N.C.C. Training:-

An NCC cadet goes through the various kinds of training during two years such as Firing, Map Reading, Drill, Obstacle, Medical, Human Resource Development, Social Service etc. The training has been organized at institutional as well as camp level.

N.C.C.Camp :-

Following camps are the part and parcel of NCC training.
1. Annual training camp (ATC) 2. Thal Sainik Camp (TSC)
3. Republic Day Camp (RDC) 4. National Integrations Camp (NIC)
5. Trekking Camp 6. Advance Leadership Camp (ALC)
7. Army Attachment Camp 8. Avahan Camp.

The scholarships available for N.C.C. candidates are
1) Chief Minster Scholarship
2) Maharashtra Govt. Scholarship
3) Cadet Welfare Society Scholarship
4) Sahara Scholarship
5) Shyam Benegal Scholarship
6) DG. NCC Scholarship
7) Bonus Marks in the University Exam.

Social Service

Social service is very important part of NCC. Every Year, following social services are organized by our college under the guidelines of 6 Maharashtra Girls Bn, Kolhapur and DG NCC.

1)Tree Plantation:-


At the time of ATC camp and at the college premises, three plantations have been done by cadets.

2) Blood Donation :-


Blood donation camp has been organized at ATC camp as well as in the college.

3) Pulse Polio:-


Our cadets along with ANO take active participation in the Pulse Polio campaign.

4)Social Awareness Program:-


Our cadets and ANO takes active participation in the AIDS awareness rally. Cadets presented street play for awareness towards education among women.

5) Pledge Against Dowry:-


Every year our cadets take pledge against dowry that “We will oppose to give and take system of the dowry and will never marry to the person who will demand the dowry. We will create the awareness against dowry in the society.”

6) Visit to old age home :-


To develop the sense of responsibility towards grandparents among the cadets, we visit the Matoshri vridhasharam, old age home at Chambukhadi. Cadets present the cultured program for their entertainment and also clean the premises of Matoshri vridhasharam.

7) Visit to Helpers of The Handicapped :-


During the ATC camp cadets visited the prominent institution for handicapped and physically disable students called Helpers of the Handicapped under the leadership of camp commander Col. Jagdish Gadekar.

8) save the girl child :-


To create awareness against female fortified, the NCC unit of our college has arranged ‘save the girl child rally’.

9) Traffic control:-


Cadets have also participated in the ‘Rasta Surakasha Sapatah’
